The Health & Housing Consortium

Uniting New York City’s healthcare, housing, and homeless services systems to better serve New Yorkers in need.

Our Work

New Yorkers with both health and housing needs often cycle between hospitals, shelters, and the street.

Yet the city’s healthcare, homeless services, and housing systems lack the coordination, training, and resources to provide better care.

The Consortium is bridging these divides to improve outcomes for all.

Featured Events

  • Training: Violence and Crisis Management

Staff across social services may encounter moments of agitation, conflict, or behavioral escalation in their day-to-day work. This training helps staff recognize early warning signs, use verbal de-escalation strategies, and maintain safety in ways that support the well-being of both clients and staff.

  • Training: Standby Guardianship

Please join case handlers from LegalHealth's Standby Guardianship Project as they discuss ways immigrant community members who may be worried about being separated from their children because of an immigration action, such as an arrest, detention, or deportation, can make a plan now for the future care and custody of their children. Attorneys will provide tools for these community members and discuss the proper documentation.
