The Health & Housing Consortium

Uniting New York City’s healthcare, housing, and homeless services systems to better serve New Yorkers in need.

Featured Events

  • Ask a Lawyer: Non-Citizen Eligibility for Government Benefits

This session will provide attendees with an opportunity to ask questions about non-citizen eligibility for public benefits rules, barriers non-citizens face when applying for Cash Assistance and SNAP from NYC HRA and tips for overcoming them, and common concerns raised by non-citizen clients, including public charge, sponsor deeming and sponsor liability, confidentiality, and social security numbers.

  • Training: Basics of Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C is caused by a virus that can damage the liver, leading to cirrhosis, liver failure, and even liver cancer. People who share equipment to inject drugs and/or hormones and steroids are at a higher risk of infection. While there is no vaccine, important steps can be taken to minimize risk and provide a cure. Please join the team at the Hepatitis C Mentor and Support Group (HCMSG) for an introduction to the Basics of Hepatitis C.

New Yorkers with both health and housing needs often cycle between hospitals, shelters, and the street.

The Consortium is bridging these divides to improve outcomes for all.

  • Collaboration
